Yamaha F115 LB Long Shaft 115HP Outboard Motor Used (F115 LB)
The next generation of Yamaha's F115 is the lightest four-stroke 115-horsepower outboard available. That and a host of great features and benefits means the new EFI F115 is poised to carry on in the Yamaha line as one of the company's best-selling models.

The F115's powerhead is all-new with increased bore and stroke, now measuring a full 1.8 litres. At the same time, this double- overhead cam (DOHC) four-cylinder design gets larger intake and exhaust valves for easier breathing, more power and better midrange torque. Complementing the new valves and cylinder head is a new 60-mm single throttle body with Yamaha's long intake track system, and a new free-flow exhaust manifold. Compression ratio is increased, and so is the full-throttle rpm range: 5,300 to 6,300. A knock sensor, an unexpected feature in this class of outboard, allows the engine to operate constantly at peak output. The result is terrific acceleration and a zero-to-200-foot time that's 0.7 sec. faster than that of the F115A.

Yamaha F90 90HP 20" Shaft Outboard Motor 2014 Used (F90)
Our Used Yamaha 90HP – 20″ Shaft features greater displacement and a single-overhead-camshaft design with four valves per cylinder. This boosts power and volumetric efficiency and streamlines design. A lighter, more powerful design gives the F90 blistering speed that’s 1.5 mph faster than competing outboards.

This model has a powerful and precise Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection delivering the exact amount of fuel needed for optimum performance and efficiency. Yamahas EFI optimizes fuel atomization further enhancing fuel economy.

Power and Performance

Powerful Hole Shot: The Composite Intake Manifold on the F115, F90 and F75 feature long tube intake tracks, tuned to increase airflow, which boost low-end and midrange torque. This means a more powerful hole shot and increased acceleration. Even with all this responsive power, an air silencer box and surge tank reduce air intake noise and air turbulence for smooth, quiet operation.

Optimum Performance: A TCI microcomputer ignition adjusts timing to maintain optimal engine performance, economy and power under all operating conditions.

Lightweight, Compact Design: To keep weight down and efficiency up, the F115 has a double overhead camshaft, and the F90 and F75 feature a single overhead camshaft, but still deploy four valves per cylinder. That setup means less mass in the cylinder head and reduced weight for the overall outboard. At the same time, four valves per cylinder means great engine combustion, which contributes to horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency.

Quick Acceleration: The F90 and F75 have stepped up to 1.8-liter displacement, joining their F115 big bro. Meanwhile the 90hp and 75hp have both dropped 13 pounds. Lighter weight and increased volumetric efficiency, plus increased displacement equals thrilling performance and make our 90hp a top performer in acceleration and torque.

Reliability and Durability.

Corrosion Protection: Used Yamaha 90HP – 20″ Shaft is Combined with our proprietary alloy (YDC-30), our highly vaunted, anti-corrosive paint system provides a tough, five-layer barrier against corrosion. Stainless Steel components such as the drive, prop and shift shafts provide an additional layer of critical corrosion protection. And multiple sacrificial anodes throughout the motor provide protection from the elements.

Wet Sump: The F115, F90 and F75 use a pressurized oil delivery system and incorporates a compact and durable oil pump to keep all of the moving parts of their DOHC and SOHC systems lubricated and running smoothly for maximum reliability.

Engine Warning System: This system protects the outboard with a range of functions including: overheat protection and low-oil-pressure warning (automatically reducing maximum RPM to 2000), over-rev protection, water-in-fuel detection, start-in-gear protection and shift-in prevention at open throttle.

Keep the Water Out: Updated cowling design incorporates the latest Water Draining Intake Duct. With side intakes and superior water separation function, this outboard is even better suited to take on the marine environment.

Measurably Quieter than Predecessor: Yamaha’s proven labyrinth exhaust system, which gradually expands exhaust gases through a labyrinth, greatly suppresses engine noise at low to medium speeds. Updates to the muffler have greatly reduced noise at higher than midrange speeds.

Convenience and Control.

Multi-Function Tiller Handle: The F115 and all-new F90 and F75 are compatible with Yamaha’s award winning Multi-Function Tiller Handle. It incorporates engine start/stop, emergency stop, gear shift, power trim and tilt operation, variable trolling switch, warning and controls all in one.

Charging Power: The F115, F90 and F75 feature three-phase alternators that produce up to 35 amps of power. For the 90 and 75 hp, that’s 40 percent more output than previous designs, and for the 115, it’s more than 45 percent more charging power. That’s plenty of electrical power for battery charging and accessories, with more to spare.

Variable Trolling: The F115, F90 and F75 feature Yamaha’s Variable Trolling RPM Switch (VTS®). This allows for precision adjustment of trolling speeds in 50-RPM increments, from 650 to 900 RPM for the 115 hp, and 550 to 1000 RPM for the 90 and 75 hp. It even allows for sub-idle trolling. This is a major plus for anglers.

Extended Engine Life: Used Yamaha 90HP – 20″ Shaft has a Freshwater Flush Device allows you to flush the engine without starting it, for maximum convenience, durability and engine life.

4.2 Litre Big Bore Displacement: By using a highly-advanced thermally-applied plasma fusion process on the cylinder walls, the V MAX SHO has no conventional steel cylinder sleeves, yet the cylinder walls are 60% harder than steel. That means larger cylinder bores for increased displacement, resulting in more power and torque, without increasing outer cylinder dimensions. It also results in dramatically lighter weight, better cooling, and the "micro-textured" cylinder walls help reduce friction loss, further increasing performance and enhancing reliability.

Responsive Power: 4.2 litres of class-leading displacement teams with individual intake and exhaust camshafts to provide more precise valve timing control with fewer moving parts than conventional rocker arm systems for increased reliability. This superior design also allows for use of 4 valves per cylinder which exchange intake and exhaust gases more efficiently for responsive power and increased fuel economy. Intake valves are 14% larger and exhaust valves are 10% larger than our 3.3L DOHC system.

Fastest Holeshot and Acceleration: Yamaha's Variable Camshaft Timing system advances and retards the angle of the intake camshaft to dramatically increase power and throttle response in the low- and mid-rpm ranges. This feature helps Yamaha's new 4.2-litre big-bore V MAX SHO four stroke provide awesome hole shot and mid-range acceleration you have to feel to believe.

Features & Benefits

4.2 Litre Big Bore Displacement
By using a highly-advanced thermally-applied plasma fusion process on the cylinder walls, the V MAX SHO has no conventional steel cylinder sleeves, yet the cylinder walls are 60% harder than steel.

Responsive Power
4.2 litres of class-leading displacement teams with individual intake and exhaust camshafts to provide more precise valve timing control with fewer moving parts than conventional rocker arm systems for increased reliability. This superior design also allows for use of 4 valves per cylinder which exchange intake and exhaust gases more efficiently for responsive power and increased fuel economy. Intake valves are 14% larger and exhaust valves are 10% larger than our 3.3L DOHC system.

Fastest Holeshot and Acceleration
Yamaha's Variable Camshaft Timing system advances and retards the angle of the intake camshaft to dramatically increase power and throttle response in the low- and mid-rpm ranges. This feature helps Yamaha's new 4.2-litre big-bore V MAX SHO four stroke provide awesome hole shot and mid-range acceleration you have to feel to believe.

Top Speed
The Yamaha V MAX SHO is faster than even the vaunted V MAX Series 2 that it replaces. This means four stroke smoothness, convenience, and reliability; with top speed better than that of our direct-injected two-stroke of comparable horsepower.

Smooth and Quiet
Engine exhaust is routed through a maze before exiting above the waterline through the idle exhaust relief outlet, for unbelievably smooth and quiet operation. A mufflerless design creates a more direct exhaust flow and a pleasing sound of power at idle.

Outstanding Fuel Economy
Averaging 12% better fuel economy throughout the RPM range than our venerable 3.3-litre direct-injected V MAX Series 2 two stroke. All air entering the engine block of the V MAX SHO is routed through a single 75mm electronically controlled throttle valve. Working in concert with the Precision Multi-Point Fuel Injection System, they together help ensure the precise amount of air and fuel necessary for optimum power and fuel efficiency.

Powerful Yet Compact
Yamaha's exclusive "In-Bank" exhaust system exits downward through the center of the engine between the "V" of the cylinders, rather than on the exterior side. This increases combustion efficiency for more power and torque, and also provides for a more compact shape.

Lightest Weight in Class
The Yamaha V MAX SHO is 34 pounds lighter than the V MAX Series 2 it replaces. In fact, no other equivalent horsepower production V6 bass outboard is lighter, including two strokes. From the specially re-designed engine bracket to the new lightweight cowling, every ounce of weight savings has been realized without sacrificing durability.

Better Cooling and Straighter Tracking
The specially contoured high performance lower unit features a unique curved skeg design for straighter tracking, while forward-mounted water inlets are 81% larger than V MAX Series 2 for increased cooling capacity. Inside are specially heat-treated gears for increased durability.

Powerful Charging
With 46 amps of total alternator power at 1000 rpm and a full 50 amps from 2000-6000 rpm, V MAX SHO outboards offer the kind of charging power needed to help operate today's wide array of on-board electronic devices.

Protection From The Elements
The V MAX SHO features an advanced cowling drain system, to easily and efficiently drain away any water that enters the cowling during normal engine operation. Incoming air is routed through a labyrinth of passages that trap and drain water before it enters the engine's intake, for maximum reliability.

Protection and Power
V MAX SHO outboards have an exhaust pressure reduction system, which not only helps keep the propeller hub cooled from hot exhaust gases, it also helps provide power by "forcing" those gases out of the engine during the critical hole shot and acceleration phases.

Cleaner Fuel
All V MAX SHO outboards utilize a large, on-engine water separating fuel filter with a water sensor. Used in conjunction with Yamaha's 10-Micron Water Separating Fuel Filter, it helps separate water and contaminants from the fuel before they can reach the outboard's other filters and fuel injectors.

Reliability and Efficiency
A multitude of advanced sensors constantly provide vital atmospheric and engine conditions to the Engine Control Module (ECM), which instantly makes the precise adjustments for optimum performance, durability and efficiency.

Mechanical Control
Yamaha V MAX SHO outboards are cable-actuated, allowing use of our 6X3 flush side-mount remote control. You can even add your own foot-operated throttle for additional convenience.

Clean and Efficient
Yamaha V MAX SHO outboards feature a Blow-by Gas Re-Burning System. This separates any unburned combustion gases and re-routes them to the air intake system where they are burned again, helping maximize fuel efficiency and earn a CARB 3-Star emissions rating.

Top Speed and Smooth Shifting: Yamaha's new Saltwater Series II™ HP Propeller can boost top-end speed up by nearly 2 mph in lighter-weight applications. It’s also equipped with Yamaha's patented Shift Dampener System (SDS®) for smoother, quieter shifting.

Fast, Easy Tilting: A new, Yamaha exclusive, TotalTilt™ performs a quick, full trim up or down with the fast, double-tap of a button. This makes trailering quick and easy and is handy when a complete up or down tilt is needed.

Powerful, Precise Maneuvering: Thrust Enhancing Reverse Exhaust keeps exhaust bubbles away from the propeller below 2500 RPM and when in reverse. This means the prop bites only clean water, which results in outstanding reverse thrust and control-especially when backing down on fish and when maneuvering around docks.
