The Yanmar type 4JH4E is a 4-stroke, vertical, water cooled diesel engine that produces a maximum output of 40.5 kW (55 hp) at 3000 rpm. It has a displacement of 2.19 L, bore of 88 mm, and stroke of 90 mm. This 4-cylinder engine uses direct injection and natural aspiration. Clearly the 4JH4-TE was designed more as a yacht auxiliary engine than for displacement cruisers, particularly when mated with the SD50-T saildrive.
